In which I make excuses
So I didn't write it during the day, because I needed the recipe from my recipe book.
And I didn't write it when I went home because [cue super-fast, guilty voice while looking away] I-kinda-bought-Mass-Effect-and-brought-it-home-and-unwrapped-it-and-played-it-and-then-it-was-2AM-and-blogging-about-cake-was-not-going-to-happen.
So, uh, to summarize: The cake is a lie.

How 'bout this:
Simple Ragu: (Thats a kind of pasta sauce)
Take:
1 large carrot
1 large stalk celery
1/2 normal onion
2 cloves garlic
and grate them. Add them to some oil in a pot and fry them for a few 5 minuites over medium heat.
Add a small package of ground beef. Also add a big spoonful of tomato paste (if you buy those small cans, just add one of them.)
Cover and reduce heat to low.
Cook for an hour and a half, stirring often (especially at the beginning to break up the meat.)
Taste and add some salt and pepper until it tastes good. (you can also add some oregano, basil, a bay leaf, and/or cayenne pepper if you like.)
Serve with pasta.
(This sauce is a base. if you like some kind of vegetable then try grating some in. I like mushrooms so I add them.)

I approve of the buying of Mass Effect. Well done. Much better than cake.
Mass Effect kept me up until 2 AM on Tuesday, Cori, and I blame you for that 100%. And Preston. I blame him 100% as well.
Oh, I had nothing to do with Mass Effect. I'm just mercenary.
